Doha: The State of Qatar has welcomed the IAEA Board of Governors' decision to close the non-compliance case concerning Syria and remove its name from the list of non-compliant states, considering it a significant development that enables the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic to restore its normal status within the Agency.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked all countries that had placed confidence in Syria and helped facilitate the adoption of this decision.

The Ministry emphasized that the State of Qatar is confident that adopting this decision would unlock prospects for Syria to largely capitalize on the peaceful applications of nuclear energy and support development and reconstruction efforts, as well as consolidate stability and improve the standard of living for the brotherly people of Syria.
