Doha, Qatar: Qatar Shell marked International Women’s Day 2026 with an event at Qatar Shell Research and Technology Centre, bringing together colleagues and external speakers under the theme ‘Powerful Together’ to explore how inclusion is strengthened through collective action across genders, organisations and communities.

The event was organised by Qatar Shell Women’s Association and Network, led by Maryam Rowhani, and featured opening remarks, a panel discussion and a series of interactive activities designed to encourage reflection, connection and shared learning.

The panel discussion focused on inclusive leadership in engineering and technical industries, with speakers sharing perspectives from innovation, people leadership and industrial operations.

Discussions highlighted how inclusive leadership is reflected in everyday choices and behaviours, how it can help people thrive at different life and career stages, and why diverse teams and supportive workplace cultures are essential to stronger performance and innovation.

The event also created space for broader engagement through in-person activities including a women entrepreneurs showcase, an interactive quiz celebrating inspiring women from the wider community, and a ‘Powerful Together’ commitment wall where attendees were invited to share one action they could take to advance inclusion.

Rob Maxwell, EVP and Country Chair Qatar, said, “International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the contribution women make across our business and our broader community, and to reflect on the role all of us play in creating inclusive workplaces. Progress happens when inclusion moves beyond intention and becomes part of how we lead, collaborate and make decisions every day.”

Qatar Shell Research and Technology Centre (QSRTC) provided a fitting setting for the event. Established in 2008 at the Qatar Science & Technology Park, QSRTC is part of Shell’s wider research and development community in Qatar and supports innovation and technology development for the energy sector.
