BPS celebrates International Workers’ Day

Doha, Qatar: Birla Public School celebrated International Workers’ Day and ‘Joy of Giving’ with great zeal and enthusiasm, on May 3, 2026 for Grades KG I to IV. The heartwarming event offered the young learners an opportunity to express their gratitude towards the community helpers and promoted kindness and social responsibility.

The students came dressed in their favorite community helper costumes. The celebration began with an introductory session by the class teachers on International Workers’ Day. The teachers discussed the role and importance of community helpers and emphasised their valuable contributions to society. 

The concept of kindness and empathy was explained to the students. The students spoke about their costumes and the community helpers they represented, and this fostered confidence and communication skills.

A vibrant Community Helpers Parade was conducted where students walked confidently in an orderly procession. The parade showcased the costumes of community helpers such as doctors, police officers, teachers, etc. It also connected with Qatar’s heritage by referring to traditional helpers like fishermen and pearl divers. 

The parade created a lively atmosphere and reinforced the importance of community helpers in our society. The students of grade 4 presented a vibrant and thoughtful assembly acknowledging the contributions of the ancillary staff at school.

As a part of the celebration, students presented thank-you cards to the community helpers.  The ‘Joy of Giving’ activity encouraged children to express gratitude to the school’s ancillary staff.

The event was graced by the presence of the Principal, Dr. Anand R. Nair, Vice Principal, Edna Fernandez and Headmistresses, Josephine Fernandes and Shruti Boodle. The school leaders appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation.

The International Workers’ Day & ‘Joy of Giving’ celebration at Birla Public School was an enriching experience for the students.
