Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) announced that the Al Shartain star’s ascent began on May 12, 2026, and is projected to last 13 days.

Al Shartain is “the first star of the Al-Thuraya (Pleiades) stars. Among the general Arab population and farmers, it is known as 'Thurayat al-Qayz'.”

During this period, QMD said, northwesterly winds blow, which are strong and unstable, accompanied by dust storms, and temperatures are also expected to rise visibly during this time.
