International Fashion Innovation Conclave attracts over 300 participants

Doha: The second edition of the International Fashion Innovation Conclave was successfully held on October 31 with over 300 attendees from different parts of the globe participating in the much-anticipated webinar.

International Fashion Innovation Conclave, the fashion and lifestyle Innovation series, explore new and exciting innovations and entrepreneurial endeavours that are transforming the industry ecosystem especially beyond 2020, including designers, ecommerce, fashion tech, textiles, education, jewellery and other lifestyle ventures.

The US-based international innovation platform, Mavericks365, hosted the event together with its strategic partners XPLUS, a global business media and events company, Qatar-based Address Business Management and Turkey’s Qanaq Business consultancy.

The event brought together several leading industry-experts, fashionistas, seasoned event managers and fashion entrepreneurs who gave deep insights into the latest trends, innovations and other issues affecting the industry as well as the impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic on the sector.

Speakers included Ayse Brav, Turkish fashion designer and founder of the fashion brand — Ayse Brav, Roni Helou, Fashion Trust Arabia champion in Qatar and emerging sustainable fashion champion, Marco Bester, the CEO App Tajer — leading Lifestyle ecommerce, and Claire Blumenthal — the founder of Atelier Blumenthal.

Others were Parthip Thyagarajan, the CEO of Wedding Sutra - the leading Wedding Portal Media Platform, Orhan Genceli, Chairman of Tourism Investment Society of Turkey, Firas Issa, the CEO of Occasions Qatar – Qatar’s leading Qatari custom-made wedding and Events Company, and Vandana Mohan, celebrity wedding planner and founder of The Wedding Design Company – pioneers of Big Fat Indian Weddings.

The first session, a Masterclass on Building Sustainable Fashion Brands which was moderated by Harmeet Bajaj — a Fashion strategist, highlighted the increasing global focus on sustainability and why brands no longer have the luxury of ignoring sustainable practices. Speakers reiterated on the importance of knowing how a brand fits into the space of sustainability and how what the brand offers is imperative to creating a coherent ideology, among others.

The session was moderated by Sakala Debrass from Mavericks 365. The latest trends and current challenges within the sector were also highlighted during the session.

“The fashion and event management industry, like every other sector, is experiencing lots of challenges due to the COVID 19 pandemic. That is why we believe there is a need for us to start looking at more innovations that could help sustain the industry at this period and even beyond,” said Vineet Nambiar, founder of Mavericks365.
