QSE’s benchmark index gained 134.44 points last week

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 134.44 points, or 1.51 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,027.71 points.

Trading value during last week decreased by 37.08 percent to reach QR809.27m compared to QR1.28bn.
Trading volume decreased by 30.11 percent to reach 36.18 million shares, as against 51.78 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 35.17 percent, to reach 14,439 transactions as compared to 22,273 transactions.
Market cap rose by 0.76 percent to reach QR481.42bn as compared to QR477.76bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 45.84 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 20.17 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 13.37 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 9.16 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 47.68 percent of the total traded volume. Industries sector accounted for 18.58 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 16.10 percent and Telecoms sector accounted 10.37 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 36.03 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 23.19 percent.
Real Estate sector accounted for 16.98 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 8.90 percent.
Out of the 45 companies listed on the QSE, 29 ended last week higher, 13 fell and three remained unchanged.
QNB led traded value last week with 10.59 percent of the total traded value. Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 7.56 percent and Barwa Real Estate accounted for 6.41 percent, reports QNA.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 32.96 points, 0.36 percent.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 7.29 million from 11.04 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR287.33m from QR225.80m on Wednesday.
From the 45 companies, 18 gained, 26 companies closed lower and one remained unchanged, yesterday.
Indices of five sectors ended in red and two sectors ended in green yesterday. QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.36 percent to 15,242.04 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index decreased 0.07 percent to 2,379.05 points. QSE All Share Index decreased 0.36 percent to 2,514.61 points.
