Doha, Qatar: The French Republic yesterday awarded the National Order of the Legion of Honour (France’s highest national decoration) to H E Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in recognition of her role in supporting and strengthening bilateral relations and promoting joint cooperation in the fields of digital technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H E Mohammed bin Ali Al-Mannai and Ambassador of the French Republic to Qatar, H E Arnaud Pescheux, attended the ceremony conferring upon H E Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori, the French National Order of the Legion of Honour, which is considered among the most prestigious decorations awarded by the French Republic.
Ambassador Pescheux paid tribute to H E Al Mansoori’s prominent role in the digitalisation of Qatar’s economy and her commitment to the development of the bilateral cooperation between France and Qatar. He particularly praised her active participation during the State visit of H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Paris in 2024 and showed great satisfaction regarding the achievements of the bilateral partnership in the digital field, wishing to further deepen the ties that unite our two countries, particularly in the fields of AI and quantum technology.
For her part, Al Mansoori expressed her profound gratitude to the French Republic for bestowing the honour, which reflects the strong and longstanding ties between the State of Qatar and the French Republic, as well as the joint efforts to advance cooperation in priority digital fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both friendly nations. She wished for further development and progress in relations and shared interests, in line with their aspirations for a promising digital future.
