Doha, Qatar: This weekend is packed with a wide range of events and activities, from arts to markets and cultural gatherings, to suit various interest of citizens and residents in Doha. 

The 35th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, currently a popular destination among readers in Qatar, will conlude this weekend, so be sure not to miss it. What’s more, the traveling 'Fontana Circus' continues with its jaw dropping shows to watch live this weekend. 

A note of caution for all, the Qatar Meteorology Department forecasted windy weather conditions this weekend and issued a marine warning. During this period, citizens and residents were advised to take precautions.

Doha International Book Fair 2026Until May 23, 2026; 9am to 10pm,

The 35th edition of the Doha International Book Fair is still underway bringing together authors, publishers, and readers from around the world in a celebration of literature, culture, and ideas.

The event offers visitors access to a diverse collection of books and publications, along with opportunities to participate in discussions, workshops, and cultural programs led by internationally recognized authors and thinkers.

This event is free to attend and attendees can explore new perspectives, engage in meaningful conversations, and discover stories and ideas that inspire learning and cross-cultural understanding.

Katara Cultural Village, Opera House

Katara Cultural Village is set to host Mozart and Bartok led by Austin Chanu with Concertmaster Joo Young Oh.

This event moves from Tchaikovsky’s dramatic flair to Bartók’s full-throttle orchestral color.

Entry for children under 6 years of age is restricted at the venue, and seating will begin 30 minutes prior to the performance.

Torba Market is currently hosting a new community market concept, ‘Torba Market on the Bridge’, at Qanat Quartier in The Pearl Island.

The open-air market will bring together local vendors, cafés, and neighborhood attractions along the canal, offering visitors a chance to explore the district’s vibrant atmosphere.

DFI at VOX: Hijra

Hijra, a moving story about 12-year-old Janna and her grandmother as they race across Saudi Arabia to find Janna’s missing sister before Hajj begins, will be screened as part of the DFI at VOX series.

The movie takes the viewer on journey as they uncover long-buried family secrets, bringing three generations closer to forgiveness, healing, and redemption.
