Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Labour has identified several key specialisations in high demand across Qatar’s labour market, while reaffirming the role of the national Kawader platform in connecting qualified Qatari job seekers and children of Qatari women with employment opportunities in the private sector.

Speaking to Qatar Television recently, Acting Director of the Skills Development and Rehabilitation Department at the Ministry of Labour Mohammed Salem Al Khalifi, said that labour market needs are continuously evolving in line with the requirements of the private sector, which the ministry works closely with on an ongoing basis.

Al Khalifi noted that accounting remains one of the most consistently sought-after disciplines in the labour market, maintaining strong demand year after year. He added that human resources management, information technology, and engineering fields are also among the most required specialisations.

“The specialisations currently witnessing demand in the labour market include accounting, which has consistently been required over the years, as well as human resources management, information technology, and engineering in its various branches, including computer, mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering,” he said.

He further explained that administrative and professional occupations also continue to offer significant employment opportunities for job seekers.

According to Al Khalifi, labour market demands are subject to change based on future economic and sectoral requirements. “The specialisations that may be required next year will depend on labour market needs and the plans developed in response to those requirements,” he said.

His remarks came as the Ministry of Labour announced the availability of 495 job opportunities through the Kawader platform, a national employment system designed to support the recruitment of qualified national talent and facilitate access to suitable positions.

Al Khalifi described Kawader as a comprehensive national platform through which job seekers can register and submit their professional profiles. The platform is open to Qatari citizens and children of Qatari women and enables users to upload key information, including educational qualifications, professional experience, and résumés.

“Kawader is a national platform where job seekers register and provide their complete professional information. Whether a person is entering the labour market for the first time or has previous work experience, they can upload their résumé, years of experience, and academic qualifications,” he explained.

He noted that the platform uses this information to match candidates with available vacancies, making it easier for job seekers to access positions that align with their qualifications and career backgrounds.

To illustrate the platform’s functionality, Al Khalifi cited the example of an applicant with several years of banking experience and a university degree in business administration, finance, or accounting. By entering accurate and detailed information, such candidates can receive job recommendations that closely match their qualifications and experience levels.

“If an applicant has three or four years of banking experience and holds a university degree in finance, business administration, or accounting, the platform can identify and present suitable vacancies once accurate information has been entered,” he said.

Al Khalifi stressed that the accuracy of the data provided by job seekers is critical to ensuring successful job matching. He explained that incomplete or inaccurate information may limit the visibility of relevant opportunities or result in applicants being matched with positions that do not correspond to their experience levels.

“The information entered by job seekers is extremely important. When candidates register their details accurately, they can access suitable vacancies more easily because the jobs listed on the platform are linked to specific qualifications and requirements,” he said.

He added that the platform processes applicant data according to the criteria and specializations required for each position, helping ensure that qualified candidates are directed toward opportunities that best match their profiles.

The Ministry of Labour continues to leverage the Kawader platform as a key tool for enhancing employment opportunities for national talent, supporting workforce development, and aligning job seekers’ skills with the evolving needs of Qatar’s labour market.
