The girl's father attended the function on his daughters behalf.
Doha: South Security Department at the General Directorate of Public Security honoured the 12-year-old girl, Rimas Rashid Al-Afifa Al-Marri, in appreciation of her efforts to save the life of her uncle, who was exposed to a health problem at home.
She gave necessary first aid for him and also called the emergency service (999) to request aid.
Rimas’ father expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of the Interior and the Southern Security Department for this honour, noting that the proper action by his daughter was a result of her prior knowledge of how to provide first aid that he was keen to teach her and the rest of his children.

He also urged parents on the importance of teaching their children safety and security measures to face any risks they may face.
Meanwhile, South Security Department also honoured an Egyptian national Lara Ali Mohamed in appreciation of her contribution in saving a person from drowning in the Sealine area.
The Southern Security Department expressed its thanks and appreciation for such efforts and joint cooperation within the framework of the joint responsibility to maintain security, calling on all seagoers to take more caution , and to use security and safety tools, and take into account not to go to the beaches without knowing the area in order to preserve their safety.
