Doha, Qatar: Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Majed bin Mohammed Al-Ansari held a weekly media briefing on Tuesday, August 25, highlighting Qatar’s diplomatic efforts to promote a return to negotiations between the United States and Iran, the strength of the Qatari economy, efforts to restore normal navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and the need to accelerate the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Here are the key points highlighted during the briefing:

- Qatar's efforts and regional contacts with various parties continue to promote a return to negotiations between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

- The Qatari economy remains strong, with continued focus on the well-being of citizens and residents and the implementation of national development projects and plans. The economic measures adopted during the crisis are precautionary and temporary in nature, limited to the operational aspect, and do not represent structural changes to the economy.

- One of the State of Qatar's priorities is to restore navigation through the Strait of Hormuz to normal, while continuing coordination among the Gulf states to address any potential threats or developments related to the escalation.

- The State of Qatar stresses the need to exert pressure on Israel and accelerate the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, linked to the plan of His Excellency President Donald Trump, President of the United States of America.
