Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar welcomes the decision of the United States of America to approve the removal of the Syrian Arab Republic from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that this step represents a positive development that contributes to efforts aimed at achieving stability in Syria and the region, and advancing the political settlement process in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, in a manner that fulfils the aspirations of the Syrian people.
The Ministry reiterated Qatar’s firm position in support of Syria’s unity, sovereignty and independence, and its continued support for the Syrian people in their efforts to achieve security, stability and prosperity.
