Doha: Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar, H E Md. Jashim Uddin met with Chief Executive Officer at QFC Authority, Yousuf Mohamed Al Jaida, yesterday. During the meeting, the Chief Executive of the QFC briefed the Ambassador about the opening of new businesses under the sponsorship of Qatar Financial Center and other activities of the QFC.
The Ambassador sought QFC’s support in enabling Bangladeshi businessmen and entrepreneurs based in Qatar to conduct their business and investment activities as investors or businessmen. The chief executive informed the Ambassador that they can open company with 100 percent ownership under QFC in certain sectors. The formation of an investment fund through crowdfunding under the auspices of QFC was also discussed in detail. The Ambassador proposed the formation of a Business Council comprising Bangladeshi and Qatari businessmen to enhance communication between entrepreneurs and businessmen of the two countries. The chief executive of QFC welcomed the proposal and termed it a positive step.
In the meeting, it was agreed that a webinar with participation of entrepreneurs in the IT sector of the two countries would be held soon. Embassy Counselor (Political and Economic) Md. Mahbur Rahman was present at the meeting.
