Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s municipalities stepped up their field and community services during the second quarter of 2026, conducting more than 174,000 health, general and technical inspections and responding to 7,550 customer service requests, according to performance figures issued by the Ministry of Municipality.
During the quarter, municipal teams carried out 26,758 health inspections, 47,274 general inspections and 100,870 technical inspections, demonstrating the scale of regular field operations covering businesses, facilities and various municipal activities.
As part of these inspection and regulatory efforts, municipalities recorded 50,254 violations and implemented 41 closures during the quarter. These measures form part of the regulatory process aimed at addressing cases of non-compliance and ensuring that public health, safety and municipal requirements are upheld.
Municipalities also carried out 6,431 pest and rodent-control operations, contributing to efforts to maintain healthy and clean surroundings, while 8,494 advertising permits were issued to facilitate regulated commercial activities.
The Municipality of Doha recorded 28,782 health inspections, 6,708 general inspections and 3,265 technical inspections during Q2. Its teams handled 2,897 customer service requests, conducted 12,695 pest and rodent-control operations and issued 3,360 advertising permits. The municipality also recorded 1,464 violations and seven closures.
Al Rayyan Municipality carried out 28,834 health inspections, 9,969 general inspections and 9,262 technical inspections, while handling 2,302 customer service requests. It conducted 13,877 pest and rodent-control operations and issued 2,380 advertising permits. The municipality recorded 2,218 violations and nine closures.
Al Wakrah Municipality conducted 23,139 health inspections, 16,696 general inspections and 7,361 technical inspections. It handled 802 customer service requests, carried out 5,726 pest and rodent-control operations and issued 694 advertising permits. Its teams recorded 891 violations and nine closures.
Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality recorded 4,001 health inspections, 3,833 general inspections and 1,286 technical inspections, alongside 193 customer service requests and 1,877 pest and rodent-control operations. It issued 667 advertising permits, while recording 237 violations and two closures.
Al Shamal Municipality conducted 1,999 health inspections, 1,886 general inspections and 2,317 technical inspections, handled 66 customer service requests and carried out 706 pest and rodent-control operations.
It issued 45 advertising permits, with 58 violations and one closure recorded.
Umm Salal Municipality completed 5,439 health inspections, 2,530 general inspections and 1,840 technical inspections, while handling 503 customer service requests and conducting 6,218 pest and rodent-control operations. It issued 303 advertising permits and recorded 756 violations and four closures.
Al Daayen Municipality recorded 4,001 health inspections, 1,285 general inspections and 286 technical inspections, together with 628 customer service requests and 8,150 pest and rodent-control operations. It issued 999 advertising permits, while recording 400 violations and four closures.
Al Sheehaniya Municipality conducted 4,582 health inspections, 4,367 general inspections and 1,150 technical inspections, handled 159 customer service requests and carried out 1,005 pest and rodent-control operations. It issued 46 advertising permits and recorded 407 violations and five closures.
The second-quarter performance figures underline the broad scope of municipal work across Qatar, combining preventive inspections, technical monitoring, pest-control operations, customer services and the regulation of commercial activities. The enforcement measures recorded during the period complement these services by helping ensure compliance with municipal standards and contributing to safe, healthy and well-maintained communities.
