QSE’s main index gained 101.51 points last week

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 101.51 points, or 1.14 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,024.03 points. Trading value last week increased by 73.35 percent to reach QR1.03bn compared to QR598.30m at the end of the previous week.

Trading volume increased by 167.66 percent to reach 33.47 million shares, as against 12.50 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 50.67 percent, to reach 13,586 compared to 9,017 transactions.

Market cap rose by 0.99 percent to reach QR493.68bn as compared to QR488.85bn at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 39.19 percent of the total traded value. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 14.99 percent. Industries sector accounted for 11.07 percent and Transportation sector accounted 11.05 percent.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week and accounted for 26.56 percent of the total. Telecoms sector accounted for 24.29 percent. Transportation sector accounted for 16.72 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 14.38 percent.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 35.18 percent of the total. Industries sector accounted for 15.45 percent,  Real Estate 15.10 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 11.11 percent.

From the 45 listed companies 26 ended last week higher, while 18 fell and one remained unchanged, reports QNA. QNB led trading value  last week and accounted for 18.77 percent of the total trading value. Qatar Fuel accounted for 12.97 percent and Qatar Gas Transport 7.62 percent.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 95.29 points compared to Wednesday’s closing. The volume of shares traded decreased to 8.56 million from 9.25 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR275.19m from QR532.58m on Wednesday.

From the 47 companies listed on QSE, shares of 43 saw trading yesterday. From these, 23 companies gained, 19 closed lower and one remained unchanged.

Indices of six sectors ended green zone and one in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index gained 1.07 percent to 15,899.35 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 0.48 percent to 3,574.30 points. QSE All Share Index added from 0.93 percent to 2,621.36 points.
