Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has temporarily suspended sailing and all forms of maritime activities from today, June 29, until further notice as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety.

In a social media announcement, the Ministry advised owners and users of maritime vessels, including leisure boats, fishing boats, jet skis and all other maritime vessels, to suspend sailing and all maritime activities with immediate effect.

"The maritime vessels subject to the provisions of the international maritime conventions, and which operate as per the regulations and procedures in place, are exempted," the Ministry stated.

It said the temporary precautionary measure was implemented in coordination with the relevant security authorities and urged all concerned to comply with the announcement. The Ministry added that any further updates will be announced through official channels in coordination with the competent authorities.
