Qatar Airways warns of fraud attempts requesting for personal information

Qatar Airways issues a statement on Sunday, March 1, regarding fraudulent accounts impersonating the airline to obtain personal information from the public. "We are aware of fraudulent accounts impersonating Qatar Airways and requesting personal information," Qatar Airways said in a post on X.

The airline affirmed that "it will never ask for passwords, OTPs, banking details, or other sensitive information via social media or direct messages." Duqm Commercial Port in Oman targeted by two drones

The Port of Duqm in the Sultanate of Oman was targeted by two drones on Sunday. The Oman News Agency (ONA), quoting a security source, reported that one of the drones struck a mobile labor accommodation unit, resulting in the injury of an expatriate worker. Debris from the second drone fell in an area near fuel storage tanks; however, no further casualties or material losses were recorded.

The agency conveyed the Sultanate of Oman's strong condemnation of the attack, affirming that the state is taking all necessary measures to address any actions that compromise the safety of the country and its people.

Indian education board CBSE postpones March 2 Class 10 and 12 exams in Middle East

The Central Board of Secondary Education clarified in a circular that the class 10 and class 12 board exams scheduled for March 2, 2026, in the Middle East have been postponed. 

The board stated that exams in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been postponed, with the new dates to be announced at a later time. Meanwhile, it added that the board will review the situation on March 3 and take appropriate decisions with regards to the examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards. Bahrain International Airport targeted in drone attack

A senior official in civil aviation affairs in Bahrain confirmed that Bahrain International Airport was targeted on Sunday in a drone attack, causing minor material damage. Read more

Meanwhile the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced that its air defense systems destroyed and shot down 45 missiles and nine drones, including Shahed-136 type drones, during the Iranian attacks on Bahraini territory.

In a statement issued today, the General Command explained that the specialized field teams continue to secure the attack sites to ensure the safety of all citizens and residents, affirming that the vigilance and readiness of its personnel are capable of repelling and defeating any aggression targeting the security and stability of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Iran confirms killing of Mousavi and Nasirzadeh: Al Jazeera

Al Jazeera quoted the official IRNA agency confirmed that the chief of the staff of the Armed Forces, Abdul Rahim Mousavi, and Minister of Defense Aziz Nasirzadeh have been killed in the US-Israel attacks on Iran on Saturday.

Iran has also confirmed the killing of Khamenei, his security adviser, Ali Shamkhani, as well as IRGC commander-in-chief Mohammad Pakpour.

IRNA said more commanders of the armed forces were also killed and that their names will be announced later.

Fire at Industrial Area in Qatar contained: MOI

The Ministry of Interior has announced the presence of Civil defense personnel at the Industrial Area following a fire resulting from the fall of shrapnel after intercepting a missile.

No life was lost and no injury was recorded.

Jordan intercepts missiles, IRGC announces sixth wave of attacks 

Al Jazeera Arabic reported that Jordanian defence systems have intercepted missiles that entered the capital Amman’s airspace, as well as northern areas.

Iran announced at dawn Sunday the killing of Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, in the aftermath of Israeli and American airstrikes on various Iranian regions.
