Dubai Airports to resume limited operations from today evening
Dubai Airports confirmed that a limited resumption of operations will begin today evening, March 2, according to a statement by Dubai Media Office. It further added that a small number of flights have been permitted to operate from Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International (DWC).
"Travellers are advised not to proceed to DXB or DWC unless they have been contacted directly by their airline with a confirmed departure time," Dubai Media Office said in a statement. Saudi Arabia's energy ministry said some operations at its massive Ras Tanura refinery on the Gulf coast had been halted on Monday, following an attack that caused a fire at the complex, which was eventually brought under control.
The Ras Tanura facility along the kingdom's eastern Gulf coast is home to one of the largest refineries in the entire Middle East and a cornerstone of the kingdom's energy sector.
