Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality (MoM), represented by the General Cleanliness Department, has continued implementing the National Waste Segregation at Source Programme across Al Rayyan Municipality as part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability and improve waste management practices.
During April 2026, the ministry distributed a total of 1,268 blue bins designated for recyclable waste, alongside 1,268 grey bins allocated for organic waste collection in several areas across the municipality.
The ministry stated that distribution activities will continue throughout May to cover the remaining targeted areas within Al Rayyan Municipality. With the latest phase of distribution, the total number of blue recycling bins distributed under the programme in the municipality has reached 14,156 bins so far.
The National Waste Segregation at Source Programme aims to encourage residents to separate recyclable and organic waste at the household level, contributing to enhanced recycling efforts.
