Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry detected a number of violations involving the public display and transmission of audiovisual works without obtaining the necessary permits or approvals from the rights holders.

The violations were identified during intensive inspection campaigns conducted across various areas of the country.

The campaigns were part of the ministry's efforts to enhance compliance with intellectual property laws and Law No. 7 of 2002 on the Protection of Copyright and Related Rights, and to ensure that commercial establishments comply with the relevant regulations and legislation.

The Ministry affirmed that respecting broadcasting rights and intellectual property is a shared responsibility that helps protect the legitimate rights of rights holders and fosters a commercial and cultural environment based on respect for regulations and support for creativity and innovation.
