Bogotá: A commercial jet carrying 15 people went missing near Colombia's border with Venezuela on Wednesday, state airline Satena and aerospace authorities said.
The aircraft, carrying 13 passengers and two crew members, took off from the border city of Cucuta and lost contact with the control tower shortly before it was due to land.
"It was scheduled to land around 12pm" in the nearby town of Ocana, the airline said in a statement. Security and search protocols have been activated, according to the air authority.
