DOHA: London-listed Pensana plc has announced the appointment of Dr. Badr bin Dalham Al-Fahid Al Hajri to the Board of Cascade Natural Resources Limited, the Qatar-backed investment company.
The company also reaffirmed Dr. Al Hajri's full support for Cascade's planned US$165m strategic investment in Pensana, which was first announced on March 4, 2026.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Al Hajri said: "I am honoured and delighted to join the Board of Cascade and contribute to the company's strategic vision as it advances its investments in Pensana and the Longonjo Project.
“This significant investment reflects a forward-looking commitment to strengthening critical minerals supply chains and supporting the development of sustainable mining and processing capabilities, a sector that will play a pivotal role in powering future technologies, advanced industries, and long-term industrial growth. Chairman of Pensana Paul Atherley welcomed the appointment, saying: "We are delighted to welcome Dr. Al Hajri's support and the investment from Qatar-backed Cascade, which will accelerate the development of the Longonjo Project into one of the world's largest rare earth mines. It will also support our expansion plans in the downstream stages of the value chain."
