Doha, Qatar: The upgraded Hukoomi platform marks a significant evolution in Qatar’s e-government services, shifting from a directory of government services to a fully integrated digital experience that accompanies users through key Life Moments with personalised, connected services.

The enhanced platform was launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). Speaking to Qatar TV recently, Director of the Central Government Services Department at MCIT Ahmed Yousuf Al Tamimi said the new platform reflects Qatar’s continued digital transformation by presenting government services as one seamless experience.

He noted that while government entities have individually achieved advanced levels of digitalisation, the redesigned Hukoomi integrates those services into a single platform focused on user needs.

Al Tamimi said that a cornerstone of the new platform is the “Life Moments” concept, which groups related services into complete digital journeys covering important personal and professional milestones.

He added for example, a user preparing for marriage can complete every stage, from medical examinations to selecting an authorised marriage officiant and obtaining the marriage contract, without needing to know which government entity provides each service.

Al Tamimi said that behind the scenes, government systems exchange information automatically, allowing users to interact with the government as one unified service provider.

He said that the platform currently offers six Life Moments, including marriage, retirement management and winter camping, with more journeys planned as user needs evolve.

Al Tamimi said that services are also organised into broader categories such as healthcare, education and community services to simplify navigation. He explained that the platform has been redesigned with a streamlined, user-friendly interface that delivers personalised services through digital user profiles.

Al Tamimi said that once authenticated through Qatar’s National Authentication System, users are presented with services that match their age, family status and personal circumstances.

He said that married users, for instance, receive quick access to family, education and health services, while younger users are shown services relevant to education and early adulthood.

Al Tamimi said that the upgraded Hukoomi also strengthens digital integration across government entities through Qatar’s national data exchange platform.

Instead of repeatedly uploading official documents such as identification cards or commercial registrations, users benefit from secure data sharing between government agencies, reducing paperwork while improving efficiency and the accuracy of official information.

He said that MCIT plans to expand the number of Life Moments while introducing fully automated and proactive services. Instead of requiring users to search for services, the platform will eventually send timely notifications reminding them of upcoming government procedures, such as school registration deadlines or other important life events. He said that artificial intelligence will play an increasingly important role in delivering smarter, more personalised and predictive government services.

Al Tamimi encouraged users to provide feedback through the platform to help shape future enhancements, noting that ongoing development will be driven by public needs and expectations.

He also thanked all participating government entities for their collaboration in creating a unified digital gateway designed to simplify access to public services for everyone living in or visiting Qatar.
